Sushi Champion chef returns to Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah Resort

MUSCAT: Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah Resort & Spa welcomes the return of World Sushi Champion Chef Pepi Anevski to Bait Al Bahr from October 22-27 for an exciting culinary experience.

Chef Pepi’s sushi creations feature a curated sushi menu created exclusivel­y for his stint at Oman’s most scenic seafood restaurant. The chef’s special sushi menu is priced OMR11++ for a selection of sushi pieces made from fresh catch of day caught straight from the Sea of Oman. Speaking about his visit to Bait Al Bahr, Chef Pepi said: “What I am particular­ly pleased to know is that my passion for creative and tasty sushi is so popular here. This would be my third visit to Muscat and ShangriLa Barr Al Jissah Resort & Spa. I am looking forward to yet another successful guest - chef stint at Bait Al Bahr in October.”

Originally from Macedonia, but now based in Denmark, Chef Pepi has received many awards and even came first place at the World Sushi Cup 2013 in Tokyo. He studied classic Japanese sushi education in Chiba, Japan and is accredited as a Sushi Head Chef by AJSA (All Japan Sushi Associatio­n) and the World Sushi Skills Institute. Currently working as Executive Sushi Manager at Attic Salt Group, previously Head of Sushi Internatio­nal where he created and developed menus for over 200 restaurant­s across the globe. Previously he worked in renowned Japanese restaurant­s Umami, Ebisu and Etika.

Located at Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah Resort & Spa, just 20 minutes from the centre of Muscat, Bait Al Bahr overlooks 500 metres of sandy beach and is nestled against the dramatic backdrop of rugged mountains. With outdoor and indoor seating available, the restaurant is the ideal venue to enjoy uninterrup­ted views of the Sea of Oman while sampling a range of fresh seafood dishes and the sushi creations of Chef Pepi.

A wide selection of aperitifs and refreshing cocktails, served under the relaxing sounds of resident DJ Feel Good Smalls, is available in B.A.B Lounge, located on the rooftop of Bait Al Bahr.
