Dar Al Atta’a distributes foodstuffs to 400 families
The food boxes were distributed to needy families to celebrate the World Food Day
MUSCAT: Dar Al Atta’a Association recently celebrated World Food Day where a number of volunteers from institutions, school students and employees of the association helped to process more than 400 boxes of supplies and food donated by institutions and companies and a number of individuals. The food boxes were distributed to needy families to celebrate the World Food Day on October 16, 2018.
The volunteers participated in the packaging of the food received by the association through donations on this occasion, which included rice, flour, oil, sugar, pasta, tea, coffee, dates and other dry and canned foods.
The activity was characterised by joy, happiness and a sense of tenderness, which is the result of the sense of social responsibility of the members of the community. The large number of volunteers and the collected materials are evidence of the tender and affection among members of the Omani society.
Dar Al Atta’a Association thanks all volunteers, companies, institutions and others who participated in the success of this event at the Omani Women Association in Al Qurum where these were sorted and packed at the association hall. Bank Nizwa, International Seeb School, Shatti Al Qurm Girl School, Muscat International School, Al Qurm Model School, Al Azaiba School, Council of Medical Specialties, Middle East College, Oman Flour Mills Company, Naranji Hirji Company and his partners, Lulu Hypermarket (Darsit) which set up a great shopping event, participated in the event with donations. A number of hotels as Al Bustan Palace, Shangri La Barr Al Jissah, Crown Plaza, Sheraton Oman Hotel, Grand Hyatt, and Kempinski Hotel also sent foodstuffs to the association. It is worth mentioning that Dar Al Atta’a Association participates in the celebration of the World Food Day every year.
The aim is to collect foodstuff and give them to needy families whether they are registered families or families in different regions in cooperation with other charitable groups.
