Nail stars for Cricworld

Captain Neil Paily picked up four wickets to steer SAS Cricworld to a thrilling 2-wickets win over Gitac in an I Division match at OAC 3 ground in Seeb on Friday.

Batting first, Gitac was dismissed for 150 in 20 overs thanks to Nail’s superb spell in which he claimed 4 for 30. Gokul Gopinath and Kenson Kent bagged two wickets each. Mohammed topscored for Gitac, hitting up 60 off 53 while Awais Munir chipped in with a useful 37 off 25.

Cricworld reached the target in the final over, scoring 154 for 8 thanks to vital knocks by Rajagopal Manikandan (43) and Imran Ali Akbar (29).

Brief scores: Gitac 150 all out in 20 overs (Mohammed 60 – 6x4, Awais Munir 37 – 5x4. Neil Paily 4-30, Gokul Gopinath 2-25, Kenson Kent 2-29) lost to SAS Cricworld 154 for 8 in 19.4 overs (Rajagopal Manikandan 43 – 5x4, Imran Ali 29 – 1x4, 1x6. Mohammed 2-24, Awais Munir 2-26, Ali Bilal 2-30) by 2 wickets.

ISD win

In a Junior League Under-19 match at MOS ground 1 on Saturday, Indian School Darsait (ISD) inflicted a heavy 86-run defeat on MCCC thanks to skipper Ashik Sony’s solid 65.

Batting first, ISD was all out for 183 in 43 overs. Apart from Sony, Arshad Ali Khan and Mohammed Jabir batted well too, scoring 30 each. Devanshu Joshi claimed three wickets while Kumudu Kanishka took two.

MCCC did not mount any challenge and folded up for only 97 in the 35th over. Said Qureshi topscored with 20 off 44. Guruchetan Dadhra bowled an impressive 4-over spell, taking 3 for 09 while Harikeshav Pramodu and Arjun Rajesh bagged two wickets each.

Brief scores: ISD 183 all out in 43 overs (Ashik Sony 65 – 8x4, Mohammed Jabir 30 – 5x4, Arshad Ali Khan 30 – 3x4. Devanshu Joshi 3-25, Kumudu Kanishka 2-44) thrashed MCCC 97 all out in 34.3 overs (Said Qureshi 20 – 1x4. Guruchetan Dadhra 3-09, Harikesh Pramod 2-08, Arjun Rajesh 2-37) by 86 runs.

Vrishabh shines for ISM

A scintillat­ing century by Vrishabh Jasani powered Indian School Muscat (ISM) to a massive 149run victory against Indian School Al Seeb (ISAS) in another Junior League Under-19 clash at MOS ground 2.

Vrishabh’s 59-ball 100 was the highlight of ISM’s score of 253 all out in 49th over while Azam Ali contribute­d28 off 74. Mohammed Sameer claimed 3 for 47 while Arul Kumar took 2 for 50.

ISAS failed to even come close to the target, getting all out for only 104 in the 35th over. Mohammed Kaid scored 26 off 45. Vrishabh, Prathamesh Kumble and Mohsin Varya took two wickets each.

Brief scores: ISM 253 all out in 48.1 overs (Vrishabh Jasani 100 – 13x4, 4x6, Azam Ali 28 – 3x4. Mohammed Sameer 3-47, Arul Kumar 2-50) trounced ISAS 104 all out in 34.4 overs (Mohammed Kaif 26 – 4x4. Vrishabh Jasani 2-11, Prathamesh Kumble 2-34, Mohsin Varya 2-28) by 149 runs.
