Thawani launches Thawani Ambassadors Programme

MUSCAT: With an objective to encourage more merchants to use the Thawani e-payment platform, Thawani Technologies Company has launched a Thawani Ambassadors Programme. As part of the Thawani Ambassadors Programme, talented Omani youth using their sales skills will encourage new merchant from the private sector to use and endorse the Thawani platform. This initiative comes under Thawani Technologies Company’s strategy to enhance the concept of ‘sharing economy’.

The Thawani platform offers one of the simplest and most in- novative e-payment solutions in the Sultanate. Thawani e-payment solution offers a safe, simple, and highly secure payment method as an alternative to cash, credit, and debit cards. Thawani Technologies Company recently enabled Face ID and fingerprint authentication for its mobile app.

Omar Al Qamshoui, sales manager at Thawani Technologies Company said,

“We believe that skilled young Omani ambassadors will accelerate the adoption of electronic payments by merchants in their respective markets. All partici- pants will be trained by a group of specialised consultants from Tha- wani Technologies before start- ing their field work of selling the services offered by the company. Adoption of electronic payment modes by merchants will be beneficial for their growth. The use for e-payment platform has become increasingly popular as individuals are gradually moving to a cashless economy, where electronic payments are widely accepted for regular and frequent purchases.”

He added, “The ambassadors of this programme will popularise the concept of Thawani, a pioneer in e-payment technology and give merchants an opportunity to join the platform and take advantage of its distinctive services.”

Users can download the Thawani app from the Apple Store or Google Play to manage their finances. All ‘Thawani’ app users are assured of keeping their banking data completely private. Users will not have to share any card, bank, or account information at any point to complete transactions. The application is in line with the Central Bank of Oman’s regulations and maintains the international PCI DSS standards for data integrity and secure encryption.

Everything from its set-up and creating an account, to using the app on a day-to-day basis has been designed around simplicity.
