Eight teams enter fray for Muscat Municipali­ty Cricket Championsh­ip

MUSCAT: Eight teams from Group B have qualified for Round Two of the Third Muscat Municipali­ty Cricket Championsh­ip, organised in cooperatio­n with Oman Cricket Club from November 2 to 30, at Qurum Park.

In the eight matches that were held during the weekend, Asfandyar beat United Cricketers by six runs.

Winning the toss Asfandyar posted a total of 36 runs, and in reply United Cricketers made 30 runs.

United Mangalore got the better of K11 after winning the match by 3 runs. United Mangalore made 37 while K11 managed to make 34 runs.

Electing to bat first National Plastic Company set a target of 38 runs, HCC in reply managed to score just 33 runs losing the game by 5 runs.

Sumail Team beat Directorat­e General of Landscapin­g by 1 run after setting a total of 60 runs for the opposition to chase down.

The Directorat­e General of Technical Affairs beat Al Mabailah Youth who posted a big total of 66 in their allotted overs. Needing 67 to win Al Mabailah Youth collapsed to 33 all out.

The Directorat­e General of Muscat Municipali­ty, Al Mabailah beat the Directorat­e General of Projects by 16 runs to win the match.

Bausher beat the Directorat­e General of Muscat Municipali­ty, Seeb by 45 runs, after the Directorat­e General of Muscat Municipali­ty, Seeb team were all out for 21 runs.

The last game of the day which ended with both teams tied at 53 runs, was decided by a super over where Michael X1 beat Titans KFC by 2 runs after Michael score 9 runs and in reply Titans KFC made 7 runs.

It is worth mentioning that 32 team are taking part in the championsh­ip of which 10 teams affiliated to Muscat Municp0lai­ty, 16 teams of non-Omanis from the private and government sectors and other 6 local teams.
