Leadership workshop at ISD
MUSCAT: A workshop on leadership under the aegis of Khimji Training Institute was conducted for Student Council members of ISD recently. Nadeem Ahmed, Khimji Training Institute, an alumnus of IIM, Ahmedabad and an ILM UK approved trainer for leadership and management was the resource person. Conducted in two sessions, the workshop was highly interactive. Nadeem spoke on how to be a good leader, his/her qualities, attitude, and approach to challenges in life. He urged the young leaders to become good human beings. Inspirational videos depicting real life situations were shown. A castle building game using paper and allied materials was organised for the trainees who were divided into groups to test their planning and time management, teamwork and honesty. Wellmonitored group discussions and deliberations marked the bulk of the programme that raised the confidence level of the students, prompted their thoughts, eased their stress and strain and enkindled them with positive outlook, reciprocal behaviour and mutual respect. It was definitely a fruitful workshop that enabled the student leaders hone their skills and to internalise the dictum: ‘A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way’.
Earlier, Dr Sridevi P. Thashnath, principal addressed the gathering and exhorted the students to visualise their future career and imbibe the skills and tips provided in this training programme so that they would turn out to be better leaders. Jaikish Pavithran, president, SMC greeted the aspiring leaders and called upon them to prove their leadership by facing challenges and difficulties squarely. Anannya Jaikish, head girl extended a cordial welcome to the resource person and his team while Anjali Krishna, literary secretary proposed the vote of thanks to mark the end of the training programme.
