Al Jisr Foundation award ceremony for Shed the Light 2

MUSCAT: Shed the Light is one of Al Jisr Foundation’s initiatives. The competition is aimed at raising awareness through short videos and motion graphics. The competition ran for a month and focused on the following topics: child health, mental health and healthy lifestyle. The ceremony was held on Thursday, 29th of November 2018, in Lunar Cinema in Muscat.

Although there were many videos, only six finalists were selected by an internal committee from Al Jisr Foundation. Of the 6 videos, three videos went home with a prize.

The judging panel consisted of: Faiqa Ali Al-Sinawi, Director of School and University Health Directorate General of Primary Health Care at the Ministry of Health, Mohammed Saeed AlFarsi, TV cameraman at the Public Authority for Radio and Television, Ahmed Hilal Al-Harthy, Al Jisr Foundation’s General Manager.

The first place winners, Sarah Al Rashidi, Wafa Al Sherayani, Muhanna Al Siyabi, Fahad Al Jabri, JalilaAl Thani, Thuraya Al Rawahi, Zeinab Al Qasabi, received OMR1,500. The video that took the second place, and OMR1,000, was produced by Al Zahraa Al Muzaini, Shihab Al Nasri, Rajaa Al Baloushi, Raid Al Amri, The third place winners, Amani Alrasabi and Marwan Al Fawri, received OMR500.

The aim of the competition is to invest in the energies of Omani youth to highlight health issues and find innovative and creative ways to approach them.
