Oman Squash Open to kick-off to­day

MUS­CAT: The Oman Squash Open 2018 will be held at the Sul­tan Qa­boos Sports Com­plex from De­cem­ber 6 to 8 un­der the aus­pices of the Min­istry of Sports Af­fairs.

A to­tal of 40 play­ers from dif­fer­ent na­tion­al­i­ties in­clud­ing In­dia and Pak­istan will take part in the tour­na­ment.

The first four rounds will be played in the best-of-three for­mat while the knock­out stages be­gin­ning from the quar­ter­fi­nals will be played in the best-of-five for­mat.

The cham­pion will re­ceive a cash award of OMR250. The run­ner-up will take home OMR200 while the third-placed player will re­ceive OMR150. Be­sides the cash awards, the top three play­ers will also re­ceive tro­phies and cer­tifi­cates from the min­istry.

Oman will be rep­re­sented by Tahir Al Bar­wani and Mo­ham­mad Al Had­dad, while Oth­man Kh­waja and Yusuf Khan will rep­re­sent Pak­istan. Chris from the United King­dom will be an­other player to watch out for.
