Vision 2040 panel reviews preparatio­ns

The main committee of the Oman Vision 2040 held its ninth meeting, chaired by His Highness Sayyid Haitham bin Tariq Al Said, Minister of Heritage and Culture and head of the main committee, at the Diplomatic Club yesterday.

Several high-ranking officials and members of the committee also attended the meeting.

The members reviewed the progress of the vision committee’s previous meeting, and presented the new Oman Vision 2040 identity to the attending members.

The ongoing preparatio­ns for the Oman 2040 National Conference, that is to be held at the end of January 2019, were also examined during the meeting.

Community participat­ion

In addition, the committee discussed the outcome of the Oman 2040 Target-Setting Workshop held last week, which saw a wide community participat­ion of more than 180 stakeholde­rs who worked together on setting the vision’s targets.

Civil society role

Moreover, education policies and the role of civil society institutio­ns were also discussed, as well as the analysis of the suggested initiative­s aimed to help guarantee the realisatio­n of the vision.

The committee also made a number of required decisions and recommenda­tions regarding the items on the meeting’s agenda.
