Nama Group announces names of winning companies, teams and projects
MUSCAT: Nama Group (NG) successfully concluded “Musharaka Conference” 2018, the Group’s annual platform on developing the Sultanate Electricity Sector. The final ceremony was organised in Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre, under the auspices of Sheikh Al Fadhil bin Mohammed Al Harthy, Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers. Hassan bin Mohammed Al Lawati, Chairman of Nama Group, Eng. Omar bin Khalfan Al Wahaibi, CEO of the Group and the Conference Chairman, number of key ministers and undersecretaries, Nama Group board members and the Group’s companies CEOs joined Al Harthy in this significant conference.
The ceremony showcased Nama Group's sustainability remarkable projects in 2018, honoured a number of companies and announced inning projects and teams in the Group competitions and initiatives. The announcement included Nama Group Awards, which are internal awards for the best performing companies in the Group on financial performance, customer services and occupational health and safety. Majan Electricity Company (MJEC) was recognised as Best Company of Nama Group in Financial Performance, while Muscat Electricity Distribution Company was the Best Company in Customer Service, and Best Company in HSE went to Majan Electricity Company, plus honouring Tanweer as best company improving at HSE in 2018.
Regarding Best Contractor of Nama Group in HSE this year, Arjwan Shati Muscat won the first place, Bahwan Engineering Company was second and Powertech Oman was third. Nama Group launched this award as part of the Group's commitment to promote a culture of safe practices in accordance with the best international and local standards in the field of health, safety and environment between contractors.
Also, NG announced winners of Best Employee and Junior Leader of Nama Group in 2018. These awards are designed to stimulate the human resources as the key to success, either achieved or to be accomplished by the group.
As Best Employees of Nama Group, Fatma Al Shibli from MJEC took the first place, followed by Said Al Hashmi from Mazoon Electricity Company (MZEC), then Naima Al Jabri from Tanweer in the third place. In addition, Qais Al Hadhrami from MZEC was recognised as Junior Leader of Nama Group, followed by Maryam Al Fazari from MJEC in the second place while the second place (repeated) was given to Tariq Al Abri from Oman Electricity Transmission Company. In the sustainability field, Nama Group allocated additional awards of Nama Ambassadors and the National Electricity Conservation Campaign 2018. Regarding the campaign, “Burjil” from Al Buraimi University won the first place, “As Academy” from Ibra College of Technology was second, and “Ecological Shield” from Musannah College of Technology was in the third place. Furthermore, in the school category of Nama Ambassadors Awards, Bahla Basic Education School won the first place, while Al Hoori school from North Al Sharqiyah Governorate was second and the third place went to Salma bint Aumais from South Al Batinah Governorate.
