Chopard Happy Clown gets three new variations

-

MUSCAT: The Happy Clown was born of co-president and artistic director of Chopard Caroline Scheufele’s flight of imagination that turned a spontaneous sketch into Chopard’s first jewellery creation in the form of the Happy Clown Pendant in the 1980s, giving rise to all subsequent jewellery collections.

Years later, the refreshingly playful Happy Clown now appears in a redesigned version featuring three different sizes designed to delight women of every stature.

The first is an 18K rose gold reproduction of the original model as first imagined by Caroline Scheufele. Dancing inside its rounded belly are two diamonds, a ruby, a sapphire and an emerald. Its bowtie, adorned with a tiny diamond, echoes its hat on which a ruby serves as a bell. The swaggering figure is accompanied by a delightful ‘baby clown’ companion that is smaller yet no less charming, also crafted in 18K rose gold and adorned with two dancing diamonds and a dancing ruby.

The Maison also revisits another classic circus pantomime act by turning the spotlight on a white clown attired in 18K white gold costume set with diamonds.

Speaking of the Happy Clown’s return, Nailesh Khimji, Director – Khimji Ramadas, said: “Chopard is the artisan of emotions and if there is one creation that most perfectly embodies this spirit, it is the Happy Clown that was the Maison’s first jewellery line thanks to Caroline Scheufele’s wonderful imagination and now years later the Clown has returned to evoke emotions of joys and laughter in its wearer and the people who surround them.

“The three new versions exude an air of magic and mischief through a precious and timeless interpretation that will make the perfect gift for your loved one this festive season.”
