New name for Public Authority for Electricity and Water

Article (3) transfers to the Ministry of Oil and Gas all records, allocations and assets related to the electricity sector. It also transfers to the Ministry of Oil and Gas the electricity sector-specialised departments and employees, along with their existing job positions and financial grades. The (functionality of) transfer shall be implemented in accordance with the mechanism to be agreed by the Ministry of Oil and Gas and the Chairman of the Public Authority for Electricity and Water.

Article (4) cancels all that contradicts this decree or contravenes its provisions.

Article (5) says that this decree shall be published in the Official Gazette and enforced on its date of issue.

Royal Decree No. 41/2018 on amending Annex (1) of Royal Decree No. 2/2008 on defining the prerogatives of the Ministry of Oil and Gas and approving its organisational structure.

Article (1) stipulates that Annex (1) attached to Royal Decree No. 2/2008 shall be replaced with the Annex attached to this decree.

Article (2) cancels all that contradicts this decree or contravenes its provisions.

Royal Decree No. 42/2018 on the Public Authority for Electricity and Water.

Article (1) states that the name “Public Authority for Electricity and Water” shall be replaced with the name “Public Authority for Water” wherever stated in the laws and Royal decrees in force.

Article (1) states that the amendments attached (to this decree) shall be introduced to the law for the regulation and privatisation of the electricity and related water sector.

Royal Decree No. 44/2018 on endorsing Makarim Gas Development LLC’s conceding 10% of its rights and obligations stated in the revised petroleum agreement signed on November 8th, 2016 for block No. (61) to PC Oman Ventures Limited LLC.

Article (1) ratifies Makarim Gas Development Company’s conceding 10% of its rights and obligations in the revised petroleum agreement signed on November 8th, 2016 for block No. (61) to PC Oman Ventures Limited LLC provided that the final stakes for the agreement parties shall be as follows: 60 per cent for BP Exploration Epsilon Limited.

30 per cent for Makarim Gas Development LLC.

10 per cent for PC Oman Ventures Limited LLC.

Article (2) says that this decree shall be published in the Official Gazette and enforced on its date of issue.
