Oman to host tennis event
MUSCAT: Oman Tennis Association (OTA) held yesterday a press conference to unveil hosting the GCC Tennis Championship for the juniors in under-14 and under-18 categories. The tournament will be organised in the Sultanate from December 2229 at the external tennis courts of Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex.
Khalid Al A’adi, Chairman of Oman Tennis Association said that the OTA has completed all arrangements for hosting the championship. This include the preparation of the tennis courts / grounds and other facilities .
Munther Al Barwani, director of the championship said that the programme included the arrival of the teams and referees two days prior to the tournament, a dinner in honour of the delegations on December 26, the conclusion ceremony on December 29 and the departure of the delegations on December 30. The national team will participate in the championship in the under-18 and under- 14. The list of the under-18 players include Abdullah Al Barwani, Munir Al Rawahi, Zakariya Al Sulaimani and Abdullah Al Raisi, while the under-14 players are Murwan Al Khanjari, Isa Al Sulaimani, Ali Al Busaidi, Taha Al Wahaibi and Tawad Al Riyami.
Coach Nabil Al Doub (Algeria) and Sergei ( Russia) will supervise the under-18 team while Mark (Czech Republic) will supervises the under-14 team.
