Ultimate camp series coming to Oman

MUSCAT: Cycling enthusiasts and triathlon fanatics in Oman are in for a treat in the spring of 2019, as a series of training camps with several international professional athletes are coming their way.
Hosted by Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah Resort & Spa, participants can experience a once-ina-lifetime opportunity to swim, run or ride side-by-side a Tour de France champion, an Olympic medallist and Ironman titleholder, while discovering the incredible landscapes and facilities the country has to offer to sports devotees.
The month of February 2019 is scheduled for a swim, bike and run with Arnaud Selukov from France. He will take participants through their paces from February 21 to 24, 2019, which includes trail running, group-cycling safety signalling, open-water swimming, hydration, nutrition awareness and a question-and-answer session.
Selukov is an expert in his field and has done 35 full Ironman-distance races with a personal record of 8:56 at the age of 47.
He has also completed three Ultraman events, with a third in Hawaii at the World Championship, as well as a second in Canada and a win in Australia.
For cyclists, March 2019 is the month to look forward to, as 2000 Olympic bronze medallist Andreas Klöden will spend three days tackling Oman’s renowned climbs. His other major achievements also include placing second at the 2004 and 2006 Tour de France.
During the weekend, from March 21 to 24, 2019, riders will undergo pre-ride morning briefings complete with route guides.
Training
April 2019 will have the ultimate triathlon training camp with Ironman champion Jürgen Zäck. Participants can swim, bike and run with Zäck from April 4 to 7, 2019.
Moreover, they would complete running drills and brick sessions, endure open-water swimming and core strengthening, and build stamina with three-four-hourlong bike rides, all led by Zäck.
Known as the second-fastest man in the history over the Ironman distance, he has dominated many of the toughest races in the world during the 1990s as one of the first to go under eight hours.
A five-time winner of the Ironman Germany, Zäck came in second at the world’s most famous triathlon in Hawaii.

The package for the month of February 2019 starts from OMR135++ per room, per night, that includes mechanical support and secure bike storage, complimentary daily laundry of training gear, 20 per cent off at CHI, the Spa and 20 per cent off the food and beverage prices, and an option for an extended stay at 20 per cent off the flexible rate.
Whereas, the package for March and April 2019 starts from OMR105++ per room, per night with the rest being the same.
