Al Turki, STS, NBO Muzn and Maxitech score emphatic wins

MUSCAT: Superb performanc­es by Kuldeep Salve and Jay Odedara powered Al Turki to a nail-biting 5-run victory against Passage to India (PTI) in a Premier Division clash at Oman Cricket grassy ground in Amerat on Saturday.

Invited to bat first, Al Turki posted a robust total of 243 on the board thanks to major contributi­ons by Kuldeep (73), Twinkle Bhandari (43) and Ajay Lalcheta (24). Aqib Ilyas, Muhammed Bilal and Ahmed Fayyaz Butt claimed two wickets each.

PTI’s run chase got off to a solid start with the opening pair contributi­ng 55 for the first wicket and looked set for a win cruising at 184 for 4 in 39 overs.

Things started to change from there on as PTI lost four quick wickets to slump to 192 for 8 before being restricted to 238 for 9 in 50 overs. Jay Odedara was the pick of the bowlers, taking 4 for 32 while Ajay Lalcheta took 2 for 43. Pruthvikum­ar (51), Muhammed Sajjad (35), Aqib Ilyas (28) and Ahmed Fayyaz Butt (26) were the main scorers for PTI.

Brief scores Bhadoria powers STS

Brilliant all-round show by Vikas Bhadoria helped STS Tebodin thrash Orient Travels GBL by 52 runs in a D Division match at Muscat Municipali­ty ground 3 in Amerat on Friday.

Bhadoria topscored with solid 43 as STS reached a healthy 174 for 8 in 20 overs. He was also instrument­al in having Orient Travels dismissed for 122 with magnificen­t bowling figures of 4 for 22. Marshal B and Shryas Samir took two wickets each.

Shameer helps NBO

Shameer Khwaja bagged four wickets to steer NBO Muzn to an emphatic 53-run win over Oasis Water in an E Division game at Muscat Municipali­ty ground 1.

NBO Muzn scored a sizeable 184 for 6 in 20 overs and then bowled out Oasis Water for just 131 in 19 overs to secure a welldeserv­ed victory. Shameer was brilliant with the ball, taking 4 for 17 while Ashish Kumar bagged 2 for 28.

Raghunath shines

Raghunath Masanam shone with bat and ball to help Maxitech Internatio­nal to a thrilling 2-run victory against Silkgate in an F Division clash at Muscat Municipali­ty ground 4. Silkgate could only score a modest 139 for 7 in 20 overs. Javed Mohammed (36) and Muhammed Owais (25) were the only notable scorers. Mifas, Rahul and Raghunath claimed two wickets each. Raghunath topscored with a superb 55 to help Maxitech to a fighting win in the final over as it scored 142 with 3 balls to spare.
