Omani talent shines at UNFPA Youth Summit

MUSCAT: Talented Omani musicians and artists were invited to perform at the first edition of Youth Forum in the Arab region, proudly organised by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).

Omani standup comedian Noor Al Mahruqi received an exclusive opportunit­y to compere the forum.

The cultural event showcased original compositio­ns by a talented artist, Fatma Mirza, followed by the local band Pulse and Soul with lead Omani Greek Singer Thanae Pachiyanna­ki.

Omani upcoming artist Khairika Al Sinani, whose also an outstandin­g vocalist and pianist teamed up with band members Claudia Reynaldo on the bass and Ernesto Raymat on drums.

The 2018 edition particular­ly focused on the theme of Innovation, Youth, Peace and Security and provided a platform to showcase different cultures from across the MENA region.

This forum provided a podium for Omani youth to showcase their talent and culture to the world and in return gain acknowledg­ement and exposure.

Aiming to set and advance the youth agenda and promote youth, peace and developmen­t in Arab states, UNFPA and the World Organizati­on of the Scout Movement (WOSM) in partnershi­p with the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Kingdom of Morocco as well as the Mediterran­ean Forum for Youth - Morocco/FOMEJE, the first edition of The Youth Forum in the Arab Region in Asilah (Morocco) was organised from December 19 to 21, 2018.
