BankDhofar sponsors 11th Omani Poetry Festival
MUSCAT: As part of its commitment to support cultural activities, BankDhofar sponsored the 11th Omani Poetry Festival. The two-day event which took place in Khasab was organised by Ministry of Heritage and Culture.
On the Sponsorship, Aziz Sulaiman Al Harrasi, Acting Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications said: “As an integral member of society we, at BankDhofar, believe that it is our responsibility to extend our support to various cultural activities. We are always keen to take part in activities that are aimed to preserve our cultural heritage. Omani Poetry Festival is one of the marked cultural events in Oman which brings together poets and those who are interested in poetry.”
The event saw large participation of Omani poets who presented modern and classic poetry. The event was a good platform for Omani poets to interact with each other and discuss the trends in poetry, and means of boosting the presence of Omani poetry in the region.
In recognition of its sponsorship, BankDhofar was honoured at the closing ceremony which was held under the patronage of Dr. Abdul Munim bin Mansour Al Hasani, Minister of Information.
