MUSCAT: Bangladesh School Muscat (BSM) celebrated the glorious 48th Victory Day of Bangladesh in a befitting manner. On this magnificent occasion, a cultural extravaganza was organised in the school premises.
Expats, living in different parts of the Sultanate, gathered at BSM to celebrate the Victory Day. The spontaneous presence of the community leaders and parents, and the eye-catching performances of the students made the celebration a huge success.
Md. Golam Sarwar, Ambassador of Bangladesh, graced the occasion as the chief guest. He was accompanied by the Guest of Honour, Taslima Sarwar. Dignitaries from different government offices of the Sultanate and prominent expatriates from the Bangladesh community also attended the celebration.
Sarwar gave away the awards to the students of BSM for their brilliant performances in different examinations and extracurricular activities. He also handed over the Academic Excellence Award, comprising medals and certificates to the students, provided by the Edexcel Pearson Authority for their outstanding performance in the latest examination session. The “Ambassador’s Excellence Awards” and the “Outstanding Academic Excellence Awards” were also given to the distinguished students.
“On this glorious occasion, I offer my heartfelt gratitude to the visionary and unparalleled leader, His Majesty the Sultan, for all his kindness and support to us. I pay homage to the Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Skeikh Mujibur Rahman, who gave us independence, made us proud and gave us a separate identity in the world. I pray to the Almighty Allah for eternal peace of the martyred who sacrificed their lives to give us freedom in 1971,” said the ambassador.
