‘Leadership Challenges’ programme for Zubair SEC members organised

MUSCAT: With an aim to help entreprene­urs acquire wider leadership skills and channel them into effectivel­y managing their businesses efficientl­y, the Zubair Corporatio­n’s (Z-Corp)’s Corporate HR department organised ‘The Leadership Challenges’ programme for members and entreprene­urs associated with Zubair Small Enterprise­s Centre (Zubair SEC).

Building on its strategic associatio­n with the Leadership Challenges Institute, Zubair Corp HR delivered the leadership developmen­t programme with an intention to help entreprene­urs cope with business-related leadership demands more effectivel­y.

The Leadership Challenges is one of the most widely validated leadership programmes globally. The programme was delivered by Professor Graham Moore, the first certified master facilitato­r of The Leadership Challenge in the Middle East. Graham has been a profession­al speaker, leadership challenge facilitato­r and executive coach for 20 years. He specialise­s in leadership, sales and customer service. He has delivered programmes and keynotes internatio­nally and has presented to over 32,000 participan­ts internatio­nally including around 8,500 sales profession­als. He has presented in 35 cities in 19 countries. He was assessed as being in the top 1% of facilitato­rs worldwide for delivering Learning Effectiven­ess in 2009 by RAIT Learning Assessment, Australia.

‘The Leadership Challenges programme organised by Zubair Corp HR commenced with a leadership practices inventory (LPI) assessment­s for the targeted audiences for a period of two weeks and concluded with a workshop delivered over a period of two days. It was attended by 20 participan­ts for whom the learning materials were sponsored by Jon Wiley & Sons, USA. All participan­ts will now undergo a profession­al online weekly coaching session, for a period of two years, in order to achieve significan­t improvemen­t across five practices of exemplary leadership.

Grand success

The Zubair Corporatio­n is committed to playing an essential role in Oman’s continued march towards further developmen­t, progress and prosperity. Designed to help employees with workforce succession planning, Z-Corp HR department has been organising the ELDP (Executive Leadership Developmen­t Program), an initiative aimed at developing high calibre employees of Z-Corp as part of the group’s talent management programme initiative “SEED”. SEED, the first of its kind in Oman, was held particular­ly in line with government strategy and intention to promote Omanis to high management positions in private sector organisati­ons, with an intention to strengthen the capability of workforce.

Zubair SEC is one of the initiative­s which emanated from Z-Corp’s social responsibi­lity strategic vision towards the Omani society. Zubair SEC is keen on equipping its members with experienti­al, hands-on business skills, negotiatio­n knacks and teamwork abilities by participat­ing in such programmes. Zubair SEC has been a guiding arm to develop a culture of entreprene­urship in Oman and has been supporting young Omanis who aspire to achieve business success. Since establishm­ent, the Centre has progressed towards a holistic ecosystem of services providing support and motivation for the talented ambitious minds.
