Deal signed for water projects worth OMR7.5m

The project will connect more than 527 plots in Bausher 1 to waste and treated water networks

MUSCAT: Haya Water signed an agreement with Ghantoot company for establishi­ng waste and treated water networks and connecting buildings in Bausher 1.

The agreement was signed on behalf of Haya Water by Eng. Mohsin bin Mohammed Al Shaikh, Muscat Municipali­ty Chairman, Haya Water’s Chairman, and Mohammed bin Ali Al Balushi, the Chief Financial Officer, on behalf of Ghantoot Company.

Eng. Hussain bin Hassan Abdull Hussain, Haya Water’s CEO, stated on this occasion that the project cost is around OMR7.5 million.

Through the project, 527 housing, commercial and government­s plots will be connected, including Al Sadeeq Al Amin Mosque, the Oman Grand Mall, and other important and vital buildings in the area will be connected by both networks. The project is expected to be completed during the fourth quarter of 2020.

With respect to the network length, Abdull Hussain said that the waste water network length is 23km and the treated networks length will be 5.7km.

Through the waste water network, the imported water will be collected and transferre­d to the Al Ansab Treated Water Plant.

Through establishi­ng and managing the waste water, Haya Water looks to protect pure water from leakages that occur from the traditiona­l system of waste water.
