Nod to amendment in developmen­t law

The proposal was submitted by the Economic Committee for amendment of the Economic Developmen­t Law

MUSCAT: The State Council yesterday approved a proposal submitted by the Economic Committee for amendment of the “Economic Developmen­t Law” , issued by Royal Decree No. 9/75 by setting a general framework for a new draft law regulating planning under the title “Developmen­t Planning Law” along with formation of a committee for rephrasing the views of the members of the State Council on the draft law as a step for referral of the same to the Council of Ministers.

The proposal was approved in the 5th regular session of the 4th annual convening of the 6th term chaired by Dr. Yahya bin Mahfoudh Al Mantheri chairman of the State Council, in the presence of the members and the secretary general of the State Council.

Medical practice law

The State Council also continued with the discussion­s on the draft law regulating the profession of medicine and the assisting medical profession­s referred from the Council of Ministers , the report of the Social Committee and the report of Majlis A’Shura on the same.

The State Council also reviewed the reports submitted by the members of the State Council which were received from some entities besides the review of the report of the Secretaria­t General on the activities of the State Council for the period between the two sessions.
