Oman and GCC on the global sports map: Al Kishry
Secretary of OOC commended the magnificent work and effort made by the Executive Office in previous sessions

MUSCAT: Taha bin Sulaiman Al Kishry, Secretary of Oman Olympic Committee thanked the visitors for attending the meeting No. 77 of the GCC National Olympic Committees in Muscat.
Al Kishry said that he was confident that this highly attended meeting would take the sports and Olympic movement in the GCC countries to a wider space.
At the beginning of the meeting, Al Kishry expressed thanks and appreciation to the National Olympic Committee of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for hosting and chairing the meetings of the last session of the Executive Office of the Council of Their Highnesses and Their Excellences Presidents of the GCC National Olympic Committees, which ended with several resolutions focusing on the interest of sport and youth. He commended the efforts made by Engineer Husam Al Qurashi, former Secretary General and Chief Executive Office of the National Olympic Committee of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The Secretary of Oman Olympic Committee expressed pride at the magnificent work and effort made by the members of the Executive Office in the previous sessions.
They had significant contribution to the GCC sports and Olympic drive, and made further efforts to complete this drive through the discussion of a package of important topics, and initiatives which would give reasonable solutions in the short and long term in the best interest of sports and athletes.
He conveyed his sincerest congratulations on the return of Kuwaiti sports after discontinuation of more than three years and the re-election of Sheikh Ahmed Al Fahad Al-Sabah as President of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA).
The two events are, for the people of this region in general, considered to be a sports achievement for all the GCC countries. He also congratulated Jassim Al Ainain for receiving the trust of the National Olympic Committee of Qatar and his selection as Secretary General of the Committee wishing him every success in his practical march so that he can deliver the results after taking over from Dr. Thank Al Kuwari, Second ViceChairman of the Qatari National Olympic Committee.
