Exciting times for ABQ Sohar International School
SOHAR, OMAN: The ABQ Education Groups newest project is nearing its completion. This exciting project is theconstruction of a new custom built Campus for ABQ Sohar International School. The new campus is being built in Muwaylah in Sohar and will be able to accommodate 1800 students from KG to Grade 12. The Campus is conveniently situated in the centre of Sohar and will easily connect with outlying areas via access roads.
The new campus will provide world-class facilities that include spacious well-equipped classrooms, six Science laboratories, 4 ICT laboratories and a modern library. It will also have a specialist Junior Science Laboratory specifically designed to accommodate Grade 1-4 students. Students will have access to an indoor cafeteria where breakfast and lunch will be available. The cafeteria will have seating capacity for 700 students. The campus will also have an extensive Indoor Sports complex that will include a gymnasium and two indoor Swimming pools. There will also be an outdoor football and basketball area.
Sohar International School is a Cambridge Licenced International School ranging from KG to Grade 12.The school offers the Cambridge programme up to A level. It also offers the local Bilingual programme for grade 9-12. The school is currently spread over two campuses based in Al Uwainat and Al Tareef.

During the design phase, a lot of emphasis was placed on designing the school to be as energy efficient as possible. The design will also include local elements to showcases the ABQ Education Group’s commitment to local culture in an International setting.
The project will be completed for the start of the 2019/2020 Academic year.
