Oman’s Al Rawahi to participat­e at National Rally Championsh­ip

The organizing committee decided to hold a technical scrutineer­ing of the cars participat­ing in the race on Wednesday, and scheduled practicing on stages on Thursday from 10 am to 4 pm

AMMAN: Omani young driver Abdullah AL Rawahi continues his journey in Jordan’s National Rally Championsh­ip 2019, he is currently in the second place of the overall standings of group “N”.

After completing 3 consecutiv­e rounds of the championsh­ip, he enters the fourth round of the championsh­ip by the end of this week and set his sight on leading group “N”, competing on Subaru Impreza with his well-known Jordanian co-driver Atta Hamood from Jordan.

The fourth round of the National Rally Championsh­ip kicksoff on August 23. The competitio­n will be challengin­g and intense with the most prominent Jordanian contestant­s’ drivers who wish to gain more points.

The rally consists of two stages the Ruman and the Salhob known for its gravel nature for a total distance of about 150 km and 61 km of which are special stages.

Besides AL Rawahi, the contestant Khalid Juma and his navigator Emad Juma, Winner of last year’s Jordan Rally Championsh­ip are participat­ing in the rally in addition to Salama Al qamaz and his son Salama al Qamaz who was in the second place last year.

As to the current participat­ion in Jordon Rally AL Rawahi said, “We are ready to participat­e in the current round and are optimistic about offering a strong race if things go as planned.

We were in the lead in the second round but due to a breakdown in the previous round, we lost one place.”

He added, “I have learned a lot through my internatio­nal participat­ions and thanks to God I get used to the car and I drive it now more confidentl­y than before , after this round we will have one more round which will be the final to decide the winner of Jordan Rally championsh­ip title and the winner of Group “N” and I hope to win the title.”
