MOCI completes training programme for Salalah ministry employees
MUSCAT: The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MOCI) has completed the Salalah Training Conference 2019, which was held to help staff develop a variety of skills for the workplace.
Participating at the conference, which took place between August 17 and 20 at the ministry’s training camp in Sahal Ateen, were employees from its various directorates across the governorate. Zahran bin Salim Al Mahrouqi, Directorate General of Management and Financial Affairs, was in attendance.
The training conference aimed to develop the mental skills and behaviours of staff in dealing with and finding solutions to problems at work. It also attempted to strengthen communication skills in the workplace, as well as train staff in how to better deal with customers.
The programme also included several lectures in time management and team work skills.
Furthermore, the conference focused on a number of topics, the most significant of which were self-management, life skills, loyalty to the institution and how to be influential in the work environment.
The conference also aimed to help administrative employees communicate effectively, by training them in a number of skills, one of which was that of how to deal with pressure at work.
The training forum targeted 40 employees from different sectors of the ministry.
The programme included recreational activities, which were put on by the ministry’s Fellowship Fund. These activities included cultural programmes, recreational guided tours throughout the Dhofar governorate and incentive awards for participants, with the idea being to take employees out of the workplace atmosphere.
