Madayn organises training event on building inspection
MUSCAT: The Public Establishment for Industrial Estates – Madayn is organising a training programme on inspection of buildings as part of Madayn’s ongoing plan to qualify, train and develop its human cadres who are based in the various industrial cities.
The programme, which will conclude today at Crowne Plaza Salalah, aims to introducing the participants to the concept of quality control in the field of buildings, enabling them to perform technical inspection of buildings, and highlighting annual and semi-annual planning procedures for inspections. The programme also aspires to enable participants to follow up the inspection outputs and documentation methods, and disseminate awareness on procedures of selecting surprise building inspections and the inspection sites.
Eng. Mahmoud Abu Jaber, moderator of the programme, explained that the concept of building inspection incorporates several aspects which include the quality, designs, requirements, construction materials, conforming licenses, in addition to all the general and specialised requirements that need to be met in all types of buildings.
He added that inspections take into account the construction works such as foundations, concrete, sanitary works, electrical installations, elevators, among other licensed works, to verify that their execution is following the issued licenses, approved drawings, conditions and technical specifications.
