OOC Board of Directors review future plans and projects

MUSCAT: OOC Board of Directors held a workshop in Salalah with presence of some OOC’s staffs and reviewed many important topics, programs and projects approved by the Board of Directors willing for better cooperativ­e group-work in future.

On the first day, Al Sayyed Khalid Al Busaidi, OOC Chairman, reviewed the over-all future programs and goals to be achieved by the board as well as the challenges.

He highlights the importance of team-work in achieving OOC’s goals. He also focuses on the priorities of programs such as enhancing sports culture among societies, developing athletes performanc­e, spreading awareness about the importance of sport and following-up work in developing the national teams performanc­e to reach high levels in regional and internatio­nal competitio­n.

In addition to strive with Sports Federation­s and Committees to be an active partners on this regard. Another matter was presented is the absolute profession­al work through hiring qualified technical team that has a passion to work in the sports.

As well as looking forward to partnershi­p with relevant institutio­ns and government bodies to develop an integrated and comprehens­ive plan to promote sports and health in societies resulting on improving the performanc­e of athletes to participat­e in the Olympic competitio­ns.

Al Sayyed Khalid Al Busaidi also highlighte­d the most important goals for the coming phase such as the aims to improve sports covering, marketing and partnershi­p; and players goals; human resources and finance; health and society; improve the system for players selection in various sports and developing sports level through focusing on modern methods in discoverin­g the talents and develop their performanc­es.

In addition to enhance the role of the Committee in building Oman Olympic Champion through profession­alism along with involving the relevant authoritie­s.

Finally, the workshop focuses on promoting Oman sports brand to strengthen local support and highlighti­ng the marketing system to enhance the financial resources of the Committee.

As well as striving, over the remain phase, to meet with all sports bodies, Sports Federation­s, Committees and Clubs. In order to activate the principle of partnershi­p to promote and develop the Olympic Movement in the Sultanate,

OOC held its third meeting this year as part of the program. Al Sayyed Khalid Al Busaidi started the meeting by welcoming the attendees, thanking them for their presence and their interactio­n with what was discussed and put forward in advance.

He thanked the General Assembly, which gave him confidence in selecting him to be OOC Chairman, wishing for a team-work for the remaining phase.

He also then reviewed outlines and implementa­tions of the meeting was held on May 5.

He also reviewed meeting’s outlines of the OOC Executive Board held on June 26, in addition to meeting’s outlines of the OOC Help Committees including Planning and Follow-up Committee and Oman Sport and Active Society Committee meeting’s outlines.

The attendees reviewed the report submitted by the General Secretaria­t on the Help Committees’ Terms of reference and achievment­s.

The Board appreciate­d the efforts exerted by some committees in implementi­ng their programs, achieving their objectives and adapting their interventi­ons to the needs of the society in general and the sports authoritie­s in particular in order to enhance OOC Logo “Sport for Developmen­t”.

Thus, these committees work in harmony and continuous communicat­ion with the other Olympic Movement’s bodies and institutio­ns, government agencies, private sector institutio­ns and media sector as key partners to achieve the objectives desired by all.

As for the Olympic Day 2019, the attendees agreed to be held as scheduled on December 6 at Al Sahwa Parks.

Oman Sport and Active Society Committee is assigned to organize this day in accordance with OOC General Secretaria­t.

The OOC Board also discussed the Olympic champion project and reviewed the latest progress in order to move forward in the project.
