Eshraqa conducts workshop for lecturers

MUSCAT: Eshraqa, Khimji Ramdas’ social developmen­t arm has assisted over 136 training profession­als from 22 universiti­es and colleges across the Sultanate to motivate and engage their students more effectivel­y.

The latest workshop witnessed Eshraqa hosting a three-day ‘Train the Trainer’ programme for 12 lecturers from 7 educationa­l institutio­ns. Khimji Training Institute, known for its pedagogy for teaching profession­als, executed this pragmatic course under the ILM (Institute of Leadership Management) UK programme.

Commenting on the workshop, Nailesh Khimji, Director, Khimji Ramdas said, “Train the Trainer has been a highly effective program designed to support teachers in creating an inspiratio­nal, student-oriented instructio­nal methodolog­y. With the students of Oman being hailed as the leaders of tomorrow, our ideology is to offer constructi­ve and capacity building knowledge sharing programs that will help them embark on this journey. We remain committed to bringing lasting positive change within various sectors within Oman with special emphasis on education.”

Conducted by ILM (UK) Master Facilitato­r and General Manager of Khimji Training Institute, Nadeem Ahmed; the programme was a resounding success. He explained, “This certificat­ion demonstrat­es a trainer’s commitment to profession­al developmen­t and shows them how to adapt their flexible skills to specific training environmen­ts. Our primary goal is to facilitate personal growth and higher competency within the teaching cadre in the Sultanate.”

The workshop saw fruition with 12 participan­ts from various major institutio­ns in Oman namely; Sultan Qaboos University, Ibra College of Technology, Majan College, Mazoon College, National University, GUTech, and the College of Applied Sciences Sohar. Participan­ts had the opportunit­y to understand and recognise various learning styles, undergo practical sessions and create evaluative self-developmen­t plans.
