Chance for In­di­ans to win a free trip home

1The In­dian Em­bassy in Oman is of­fer­ing a 25-day, all ex­penses paid trip to In­dia to the win­ner of its logo de­sign­ing con­test win­ner for its ‘Know In­dia’ pro­gramme. The con­test is be­ing or­gan­ised by the In­dian Min­istry of Ex­ter­nal Af­fairs and is only open to In­dian na­tion­als and per­sons of In­dian ori­gin. “The last date of en­try is 15 Oc­to­ber 2019, en­tries may be emailed to in­dem­bassy.mus­[email protected],” an of­fi­cial from the In­dian em­bassy said.

2A ma­jor United Nations cli­mate change sum­mit will take place in Glas­gow. The UK has won the bid to host the 26th Con­fer­ence of the Par­ties, known as COP26, fol­low­ing a part­ner­ship with Italy. Up to 30,000 del­e­gates are ex­pected to at­tend the event at Glas­gow’s Scot­tish Events Cam­pus (SEC) at the end of 2020. The UK will host the main COP sum­mit while Italy will host prepara­tory events and a sig­nif­i­cant youth event, as part of the agree­ment.

3The Pub­lic Au­thor­ity for In­dus­trial Es­tates — Ma­dayn — con­ducted work­shops on the skills that need to be im­parted to locals as part of com­pa­nies’ Oman­i­sa­tion train­ing pro­grammes in Dho­far. Both busi­ness own­ers and in­dus­trial in­vestors at­tended the work­shops. Two work­shops on Oman­i­sa­tion in the in­dus­trial sec­tor aimed for busi­ness own­ers and in­vestors based in Ray­sut In­dus­trial City and Al Mazu­nah Free Zone were held.
