Chance for Indians to win a free trip home
1The Indian Embassy in Oman is offering a 25-day, all expenses paid trip to India to the winner of its logo designing contest winner for its ‘Know India’ programme. The contest is being organised by the Indian Ministry of External Affairs and is only open to Indian nationals and persons of Indian origin. “The last date of entry is 15 October 2019, entries may be emailed to indembassy.mus[email protected] mea.gov.in,” an official from the Indian embassy said.
2A major United Nations climate change summit will take place in Glasgow. The UK has won the bid to host the 26th Conference of the Parties, known as COP26, following a partnership with Italy. Up to 30,000 delegates are expected to attend the event at Glasgow’s Scottish Events Campus (SEC) at the end of 2020. The UK will host the main COP summit while Italy will host preparatory events and a significant youth event, as part of the agreement.
3The Public Authority for Industrial Estates — Madayn — conducted workshops on the skills that need to be imparted to locals as part of companies’ Omanisation training programmes in Dhofar. Both business owners and industrial investors attended the workshops. Two workshops on Omanisation in the industrial sector aimed for business owners and investors based in Raysut Industrial City and Al Mazunah Free Zone were held.
