MSM index ends higher

The top gainer was Al Kamil Power which closed higher by 9.68% while top loser was National Finance which closed lower 3.52%

MUSCAT: The MSM30 index closed at 4,108.12 points, up 0.06 per cent. The Sharia Index closed down 0.05 per cent at 561.00 points. Al Kamil Power, 9.68 per cent, was the top gainer while National Finance, down 3.52 per cent was the top loser. Gulf Investment was the most active in terms of number of shares traded while Omantel was the most active in terms of turnover.

A total number of 425 trades were executed during the day’s trading session, generating a turnover of OMR1.3 million with more than 8.7 million shares changing hands. Out of 43 traded stocks, 10 advanced, 10 declined and 23 remained unchanged. At the session close, local were net buyers for OMR194,000 while GCC and Arab investors were net sellers for OMR153,000 followed by foreign investors for OMR41,000 worth of shares.

Financial Index closed at 6,508.77 points, up 0.07 per cent. Gulf Investment, National Bank of Oman and Ominvest were up by 2.94 per cent, 0.99 per cent and 0.59 per cent respective­ly. National Finance, Al Madina Takaful, Al Anwar Holding, Al Sharqia Investment and Bank Nizwa were down by 3.52 per cent, 1.25 per cent, 1.16 per cent, 1.09 per cent and 1.0 per cent respective­ly.

Industrial Index closed at 4,492.76 points, up 0.01 per cent. Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles and Voltamp Energy were up by 1.2 per cent and 0.69 per cent. Al Jazeera, Al Maha Ceramic and Oman Cable were down by 1.59 per cent, 0.52 per cent and 0.34 per cent respective­ly.

Services index also closed down by 0.03 per cent at 1,947.02 points. Al Kamil Power, Oman National Engineer, Muscat City, Smn Power and Al Jazeera Service were up by 9.68 per cent, 3.08 per cent, 1.92 per cent, 1.43 per cent and 1.13 per cent respective­ly.
