New search team makes first arrest
MUSCAT: A new inspection team formed by the Royal Oman Police made its first arrest just half an hour after being formed.
The team arrested a motorist who was driving a vehicle that did not meet the legal specifications that were required for it to be street worthy, after he’d been involved in a hit-and-run accident, and then proceeded to flee the scene. “A driver of a vehicle in an abnormal condition caused an accident involving a hit-and-run, following which he escaped from the site,” said the Royal Oman Police.
“Police headquarters of the Governorate of Al Dakhiliyah arrested him within half an hour after the formation of a search team, and an investigation will be conducted to look into the vehicle specifications. Legal procedures are being completed against him.”
