Kims to expand its Duqm Medical Complex into 50-bed hospital
The expansion will include a new building adjacent to the currently operating Kims Duqm medical centre
MUSCAT: Kims Oman Hospital (KOH) is expanding its Kims Duqm Medical Complex into a 50-bed hospital. Kims has partnered with Iskan Oman Investment Company to develop the site in phases.
The expansion will include a new building adjacent to the currently operating Kims Duqm medical centre. Kims will be adding new specialities from its expert pool of doctors such as – orthopaedics, general surgery, internal medicine, ophthalmology, cardiology, paediatrics, obstetrics and gynaecology, dental, occupational medicine and physiotherapy and rehabilitation.
Kims will add CT scan to the existing radiology modalities of ultrasound and digital X-ray along with physiotherapy, laboratory and audiology.
Kims is the only private medical facility located inside the Special Economic Zone Authority at Duqm (Sezad) and has been providing its services to top industrial companies in Duqm.
According to Sezad, projects so far have been implemented in Duqm worth more than $14 bn. Some of the major projects includes – Duqm Refinery and China-Oman Industrial Park, which plans to harbour an oil refinery, a methanol plant, a solar power equipment production facility, an automobile factory, building materials plant, a tourism zone and homes to accommodate the population of 25,000 in the area.
