MSM index ends lower

The top gainer was Ominvest which closed higher by 8.39% while top loser was Al Anwar Ceramics which closed lower 9.09%

MUSCAT: The MSM30 index closed at 3,607.08 points, down 1.46 per cent. The Sharia Index closed down 1.12 per cent at 504.64 points.

Ominvest, up 8.39 per cent, was the top gainer while Al Anwar Ceramics, down 9.09 per cent was the top loser. Ominvest was the most active in terms of number of shares traded as well as in terms of turnover.

A total number of 441 trades were executed during the day’s trading session, generating a turnover of OMR7.46 million with more than 24.37 million shares changing hands.

Out of 38 traded stocks, 1 advanced, 24 declined and 13 remained unchanged.

At the session close, local investors were net buyers for OMR2.19 million while GCC and Arab investors were net sellers for OMR1.39 million followed by foreign investors for

OMR802,000 worth of shares.

Financial Index closed down by 0.66 per cent at 5,706.79 points. Ominvest closed higher by 8.39 per cent.

Vision Insurance, Al Omaniya Financial Services, Bank Dhofar, Al Madina Investment, Al Sharqiya Investment were down by 6.59 per cent, 5.26 per cent, 4.81 per cent, 4.55 per cent, and 4.48 per cent respectively.

Industrial Index was down 1.30 per cent at 3,978.04 points. Al Anwar Ceramic tiles, Raysut Cement, and Galfar Engineering were down by 9.09 per cent, 2.30 per cent, and 2.04 per cent respectively.

Services index was down 1.90 per cent at 1,702.38 points. Al Jazeera Services, Oman National Engineering, Ooredoo, National Gas, and OIFC were down by 9.03 per cent, 6.25 per cent, 6.05 per cent, 5.80 per cent, and 5.32 per cent respectively.
