Bank Muscat launches 2 mobile banking units

The two bus-based mobile banking units will be able to easily travel to and operate in remote locations that do not have branches, greatly improving financial inclusion in Oman

MUSCAT: Bank Muscat, the leading financial services provider in the Sultanate, has announced the launch of two new mobile banking units, in line with its vision ‘To serve you better, everyday’, and commitment to promoting financial inclusion across the Sultanate, including the remotest parts of the country.

The two bus-based mobile banking units will be able to easily travel to and operate in remote locations that do not have branches, greatly improving financial inclusion in the Sultanate. These mobile banking units will prove to be useful in a wide range of situations like remote areas, festival locations, exhibition centres, events and labour camps for providing key banking services. Further, these

Mobile Service Centres will also be highly effective for any disaster management that may be faced in the future. They will be manned by 2 employees and provide a number of non-cash related requests and services including account opening, cheque book requests, credit card and loan applicatio­ns.

On this occasion, Taya Eid Bait Sabeea, Assistant General Manager– Interior Regions, Bank Muscat, thanked the bank’s customers for the confidence reposed in the bank and said, “The bank is continuous­ly ensuring that it provides the best services to our valued customers at all times and the launch of the two new Mobile Service Centres will further improve accessibil­ity for our customers, especially those living in remote parts of the country.
