Multitask with Huawei Mate 40 Pro 5G

-

MUSCAT: Given the chance to check out Huawei’s latest flagship phone, Times of Oman experienced first-hand the company’s new state-of-the-art EMUI 11 user interface, making for a seamless transition between work and play.

There’s something quite mysterious about a box that’s full with tech bliss. If there’s one word used to describe this latest offering, it is ‘balance’. The model in question is Mystic Silver, a perfect reflection of all the spectrum colours, where darkness and light exist in perfect harmony with each other. It also, promises users the best platform to multitask through the new updates included with the EMUI 11.

The Huawei Mate 40 Pro 5G also happens to be this harmonious balance between art and tech, an attribute evident in the phone’s latest interface, the EMUI 11. Based on Huawei’s distributed technology, EMUI 11 is one of the key things that enables an enhanced multi-device, crossplatform experience. Capabilities that reside within devices can be virtualised and shared to other connected devices in true ‘one for all, all for one’ fashion.

Let’s start with the Always-on Display (AOD) feature that witnessed quite the upgrade with giving the user the freedom to customize their AOD layout and theme. One of which is the new “Mondrian style” option inspired by the abstract art of Dutch painter Piet Mondrian. Adding to that the Eyes on display function, which works seamlessly by activating Huawei’s AOD feature.

The most notable changes in EMUI 11 are related to multitasking. It all starts with the new Smart Multi-Window panel in EMUI 11. This feature allows you to choose to launch the Email, Notepad, Gallery, Files, or Calculator app, or you can customise the panel by adding and removing apps. The panel can hold up to 15 apps of your choice. Huawei has completely revamped the individual UI elements to ensure they operate in a more cohesive fashion ensuring the overall experience is much simpler. For example, the transitions when you open up apps or use the various menus, overall, these updates were carefully designed to seamlessly work together and ensure the overall user experience of EMUI 11 is much more user-friendly.

Tapping on an app, for example, does not make it fill the entire screen, but instead opens it in a floating window, a feature that can, of course, be easily adjusted within the phone’s settings.

Apps can be dragged around the screen to make switching between them far easier, a tool that was pretty nifty when your phone is hooked up – wirelessly of course – to your laptop, giving you a far wider range with which to work.

Huawei’s all-scenario ecosystem allows the coherence between functions, features, apps and other devices, and is unlike any other platforms where you would need third-party apps to get the same experience.

The phone is designed with the intent to be more than just a phone in your pocket, it’s a portable office and entertainment device; phones are not only a device we use to call someone or send them a text.

The capability of the MultiScreen Collaboration between Huawei Mate 40 Pro 5G with the new installed EMUI 11 and my computer is just a symbiotic alliance, with one tap on my Huawei laptop and you can easily operate and access the phone on the laptop. This was a truly enriching experience, and one that makes the phone from Huawei stand out in comparison to its counterparts. Transferring files between your phone and PC is as amazingly simple as dragging and dropping whatever you need to and from your computer. Files from your phone can also be edited on your PC and transferred back.

Doing this might be simple, but it is quite clear that developing the technology behind making this happen has seen a lot of love, dedication and research go into it, making for an unforgettable user experience.

The EMUI 11 also accounts for easy collaboration with other users in real-time, a key feature vital for the world of remote working we live in.

One could go on, but that would detract from the amazing qualities contained in Huawei’s flagship phone supported by EMUI 11.

To sum up, imagine, if you will, your life without your phone…the look on your face right now says it all. Widely known as Emotion UI, the EMUI version 11 brings improvements to Huawei’s Always On Display feature, new animations, improved multitasking capabilities, and new multi-screen collaboration integrations. As smart technology gains mainstream prominence, more and more consumers will get access to more and more smart devices.

By visualising hardware capabilities, Huawei’s distributed technology enables wholly new types of devices to take form. With this new ‘super device,’ users will be able to personalise their experience according to their needs. Huawei says the EMUI 11 release will be pre-installed on upcoming flagship smartphones and tablets.

While testing the EMUI 11 beta on the Huawei Mate 40 Pro 5G, it was endearing to see first-hand how seamless and fast it felt. Of course, a few new features and upgrades stood out including the overall refined user experience, supported by dynamic visual elements that portray the user’s individuality and originality with every functionality.

This experience is one filled with creativity, passion and wonder.
