-

MUSCAT: The faculty of Business Studies at Arab Open University, Oman organised an international conference on ‘Co-Creating the Post-COVID19 world: Exploring Sustainable Paths’ yesterday, virtually.

The outbreak of COVID-19 has created a significant negative effect on the daily life of people as well as the global economy. The economic growth and development pathways have undergone a shock that affected the economy directly and indirectly. For the first time in world history, a health crisis has slowed down the entire global economy. Every nation, economy, industry, business, and individual are to be mobilised for a rapid response and the most comprehensive, rigorous, and adequate measures to be adopted. An international coordination mechanism is required for the management of the impact on all the sectors.

In this respect, The Arab Open University organised a conference under the patronage of the president of Arab Open University. During this conference, an edited volume book titled “Co-Creating the

Post-COVID 19 world: Exploring Sustainable Paths” was released. The Arab Open University brought together eminent scholars from around the globe to present and discuss and their views on rediscovering, redesigning, and reinventing the strategies to overcome this challenging situation faced by various sectors of the economy.

This conference featured two keynote presentations, ‘The Promise of an Entrepreneurial orientation for Sustainability in the Post COVID-19 World’ by Dr Andreas Walmsley, Director of The International Centre for Transformational Entrepreneurship, Coventry University, UK. The second is titled ‘The importance of Digital Transformation in the Post COVID-19 World’ by Maqbool Al Wahaibi CEO, Oman Data Park, Oman.
