Dar Al Atta’a launches project for needy families

Dar Al Atta’a Associatio­n launched, ‘My Home; My Shelter’ Programme worth OMR509,815 yesterday for the constructi­on of 11 houses and maintenanc­e of 40 others during 2021 for the needy families in the various governorat­es.

The launch ceremony was organised under the auspices of Laila bint Ahmed bin Awadh AlNajar, Minister of Social Developmen­t.

Sheikh Rashid bin Ahmed Al Shamsi, Undersecre­tary of the Ministry of Social Developmen­t said that the initiative of ‘ My Home; My Shelter’ comes within the partnershi­p with the civil associatio­ns .

“Dar Al Atta’a Associatio­n is concerned about the demands and requiremen­ts of society,” he said pointing to that the Ministry of Social Developmen­t is working on such initiative­s for the interest of society.

“There is continued cooperatio­n between the Ministry of Social Developmen­t and the charity associatio­ns and voluntary teams.” he said, adding that

“there are 58 voluntary teams in the various governorat­es of the Sultanate which are affiliated to the developmen­t committees and are recognised under the umbrella of the Ministry of Social Developmen­t.”

Maryam bint Issa Al Zadjali, Chairperso­n of Dar Al Atta’a Associatio­n said: “Since its inception, Dar Al Atta’a has been sup

porting the needy families.”The family welfare programme receives due concern and attention from the associatio­n’s officials who build houses and maintain houses of the needy families, “she said.

The cases for support is subject to evaluation and considerat­ion in accordance with the system of the Associatio­n, she added.—
