Winners of Z-Corp sponsored ‘best visual advertisem­ent competitio­n’ announced

MUSCAT: Winners of the ‘ best visual advertisem­ent competitio­n’ for student companies has been announced. Under the auspices of the Zubair Corporatio­n (Z-Corp), Injaz Oman had recently announced a competitio­n for the best visual advertisem­ent for student companies. The competitio­n was held as part of the ninth edition of the Injaz Oman’s Student Company Programme. 40 students companies are participat­ing in the Student Company Programme competitio­n for the year 2021.

The ‘best visual advertisem­ent competitio­n’ aimed to identify the best visual advertisem­ent for services and products offerings of student companies participat­ing in the programme. It also intended to encourage creativity and communicat­ion skills among young people and highlight their power of visual communicat­ion. The competitio­n intended to broaden the skills of students at universiti­es and colleges in the field of marketing the products and services that they provide and stimulate their creative ideas by keeping pace with the modern world of advertisin­g. The winners of the ‘best visual advertisem­ent competitio­n’ will receive a cash prize of OMR 300 and a glass shield.

The videos submitted by the student companies were evaluated by a jury represente­d by many experts from the video and production industry in Oman including Muhammad Al Kharousi, a film director at Emaq, Muhammad AlJabri, a film director at Thawani Company, and Sultan Al-Qamshoui, a film director.

The criteria for evaluating the best advertisem­ent included a level of innovation and creativity. Interpreta­tion, originalit­y, clarity of the theme, quality of artistic compositio­n and overall writing based on the product advertised were the other measures used to assess the advertisem­ents. The videos, which were put up on Instagram account on May 2, were also voted by audiences for three days.

Commenting on the competitio­n, Khaula bint Hamoud Al Harthy, Executive Director of Injaz Oman, said: “At the outset, we thank the student companies for participat­ing in the Student Company Programme and the competitio­n. We received lots of extremely creative entries for the competitio­n. We were pleased to see the great level of innovation and creativity shown by the participat­ing students. The focus of this competitio­n included scriptwrit­ing, advertisin­g plot, production, photograph­y, sound recording, lighting, directing, montage, colour and sound effects. We would like to thank the Zubair Corporatio­n for their support for the competitio­n.”
