Oman’s Grand Mufti extends Eid Al Adha greetings

MUSCAT: On the occasion of Eid Al Adha, His Eminence Ahmed bin Hamad Al Khalili, the Sultanate’s Grand Mufti has congratula­ted all Muslims, worldwide, in a speech to Oman Television.

His Eminence prayed to the Almighty Allah to return this and similar occasion on all people, worldwide, with well-being and good health and with the pandemic fading away and to guide all people to the right path.

His Eminence said that the principles of Islamic Sharia were in consistent with the interests of people.

Exceptiona­l times

He said that during the tough and exceptiona­l times there will be directives which differ from other times. For this, following such directives and instructio­ns is for the interest of all people, he said adding that people should avoid gatherings to limit the spread of the pandemic. Curbing the pandemic will become difficult without the support of each and every one and without compliance with the precaution­ary measures.

His Eminence called on Muslims in the Sultanate to assign the charity associatio­ns with their sacrifices (sacrificed sheep / cattle) of Eid Al Adha as such associatio­ns could take care of such sacrifices abroad where there are no lockdowns.

He added that Muslims could also give Sadaqah (alms) to the needy people if sacrificin­g sheep / cattle becomes difficult.

He also pointed to the aspects people should take into account to avoid the risks of pandemics.
