NBO launches digital bank accounts

MUSCAT: Bringing banking closer to customers, the National Bank of Oman (NBO) launched its new digital accounts, allowing customers to digitally open a new account without having to set foot at the bank.

Just download the NBO mobile banking app, enter your details and select the type of account, then the bank will do the rest.

The digitally opened account’s debit card can be sent directly to customers or collected from any NBO multi-functional kiosk 24/7, or visit any NBO branches.

It can alternativ­ely also be delivered to you or collected from the closest branch.

Tariq Atiq, Chief Retail and Digital Banking Officer at NBO, said, “We aim to make banking with NBO as easy, simple and straightfo­rward as possible.

“The new service allows customers to open new accounts digitally when and where it suits them through our award-winning app without the customer needing to visit a branch. We have also added a host of exclusive benefits for new customers to show just some of the many ways NBO makes banking a rewarding experience.”

The first 100 customers will also receive an exclusive cashback offer of OMR 20, while all new customers will benefit from a 1% interest rate per annum in addition to free local transfers for two transactio­ns per month and a feefree Debit Card issuance.

An additional exciting perk is a chance to win tickets to Fifa World Cup Qatar 2022 for customers transferri­ng their salaries through digital onboarding.

New customers will also receive 2,000 Nuqati points, subject to maintainin­g a minimum balance of OMR100.

These points can be redeemed for utility bill payment, Credit Card outstandin­g payment, flight tickets, hotel bookings, car rental and purchases at partner retailers.
