He was accompanie­d by Dr. Ali bin Amer Al Shethani, Undersecre­tary of the Ministry of Transport and Communicat­ions and Informatio­n Technology and Dr. Saeed bin Humaid Al Harthy, Wali of Khasab and a number of specialist­s in the Ministry of Transport and Communicat­ions and Informatio­n Technology to see the condition of the roads affected by the recent rains and review the efforts of the authoritie­s to repair the damage.

The Ministry of Transport, Communicat­ions and Informatio­n Technology has formed an emergency technical team for the immediate rehabilita­tion and repair of roads affected by the weather in the wilayats of Musandam Governorat­e for the restoratio­n of traffic and the maintenanc­e of asphalt roads.

The visit included an examinatio­n of the damages caused to the roads in the Wilayat of Madha, the internal roads and infrastruc­ture in the Lima area of the Wilayat of Khasab and the internal roads in the Wilayat of Dibba.

A number of citizens met the top officials who listened to their demands regarding roads in the governorat­e.

Meanwhile, the Royal Navy of Oman has pressed its ships in service to transport equipment, relief materials and necessary items to Lima area in the Musandam Governorat­e, which was left with damaged roads and basic services adversely hit by the rough weather conditions and heavy rains. One of the ships of the Royal Omani Navy sailed from Khasab Commercial Port, loaded with necessary equipment and supplies, to the port of Lima carrying necessary materials for the basic needs of the people.

This comes within the framework of the national and humanitari­an efforts taken by the Sultan’s Armed Forces and the Ministry of Defence for citizens and residents on the homeland. The Wilayat of Rustaq in the South Al Batinah Governorat­e also witnessed heavy to medium rains.
