Forum connects current and potential consultants, contractors and suppliers
Oman Electricity Transmission Company (OETC) hosted the Business Opportunities Forum 2023, connecting current and potential consultants, contractors, and suppliers who are interested in learning more about the company’s future projects and expressing their sincere desire to collaborate with OETC.
This forum aims to present the company’s future plans and provide information regarding upcoming tenders and projects to be launched shortly. It also includes procedures for tender submission, ensuring that the tendering process adheres to the applicable laws and standards. Moreover, the forum aims to familiarise contractors and consultants with the recent changes in tendering systems and procedures. Being aware of these changes will enhance their chances of participating in the company’s tenders, aligning with the specifications, regulations, and policies in place.
Regarding this forum, Ali Saif Al-Reesi, Chief Financial Officer in OETC and a member of the Tenders Committee, emphasised the company’s keenness to provide clear details about the projects it is working on to contractors and consultants. This ensures that the tasks and projects are more transparent and guarantees the participation of the best companies in the tenders, as well as addressing any inquiries raised by the attendees. Al Reesi added: One of the objectives of this forum is to share the lasts plans and developments with stakeholders to reduce challenges encountered during tendering and to enhance the quality, clarity and accuracy of the data, ensuring that the work progresses following the specifications, standards and applicable laws. Such meetings also help to increase contractors’ and consultants’ awareness in the field of tenders.
It is worth mentioning that OETC, member of the Nama Group is the only company responsible for the transmission and control of electricity in the Sultanate’s network, where electricity is transferred from production stations to distributed load centres in all governorates of the Sultanate, and the transmission network operates at a voltage of 132 kV and above, to cover most of the governorates of the Sultanate, whether in the north or the south. In addition, OETC manages the interconnection lines between the Sultanate and the Gulf interconnection network with a voltage of 220 kV.
