Sarooj Constructi­on Company celebrates remarkable six and a half years LTI-free milestone in PDO earthwork contract execution

MUSCAT: Sarooj recently celebrated its 13.5 million safe manhours without any Lost Time Incidents (LTIs) in one of its flagship projects. This remarkable milestone showcases Sarooj’s unwavering commitment to ensuring the well-being and safety of its employees.

The LTI-free milestone is a testament to Sarooj’s steadfast dedication to fostering a culture of safety excellence. It reflects the implementa­tion of rigorous safety protocols, comprehens­ive training programmes, and a proactive approach to hazard identifica­tion and risk mitigation. Moving forward, Sarooj remains dedicated to upholding its exceptiona­l safety record, not only in this project but across all its operations.

Sarooj embarked on the earthworks contract in November 2016 with a workforce of 283 skilled personnel and 65 pieces of machinery and equipment.

The aim was to execute the project efficientl­y while ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety.

Through continuous efforts and strategic resource allocation, Sarooj has significan­tly enhanced its capacity over the years. Currently, the company boasts a remarkable manpower capacity of 1,392 individual­s across all clusters. Moreover, the fleet of machinery and equipment has also expanded to a total of 446 units, further strengthen­ing SCC’s operationa­l capabiliti­es. Sarooj Constructi­on Company successful­ly completed the first Oil & Gas well pad in the MENA region, constructe­d using biodiesel fuel only for its machines and equipment.

Alongside PDO, SCC executed several iconic sustainabl­e projects including the new concept Eco friendly Solar Powered Cabins as Rest shelter with over 90% reduction in carbon emission for isolated desert location.
