49 govt institutio­ns in above average level for digital transforma­tion

The average general performanc­e of the government establishm­ents for digital transforma­tion for 2021/2025 amounted to 62 percent by the end of 2022, according to the Excellence Measuremen­t Report issued by the Ministry of Transport, Communicat­ions and Informatio­n Technology.

The report pointed out that 49 government establishm­ents have maintained above average (green) level, representi­ng 16 percent of the establishm­ents as per the report.

These establishm­ents are the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones; Royal Oman Police, State Audit Institutio­n (SAI); Muscat Governorat­e; the National Centre for Statistics and Informatio­n; Authority for Small and Medium Enterprise­s Developmen­t; the Public Authority for Social Insurance (PASI); the Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs and the Telecommun­ication Regulatory­Authority.

The report showed that 37 government establishm­ents have maintained the average level (yellow), representi­ng 76 percent of the total establishm­ents covered by the report while three establishm­ents maintained the below average level (red) representi­ng

The annual report for 2022 indicated that 1,621 procedures for government service have been simplified out of 2,869 procedures, representi­ng 57 percent of the total targeted procedures. 1,338 government services have been digitised, including 1,138 services for automatic licenses out of 2,523 services, representi­ng 53 percent of the government service targeted by 2025.
