MAGICAL, MISTY AND GREEN DHOFAR PREPARES TO WELCOME TOURISTS

MUSCAT: Thousands of tourists from all over the world are expected to flock to the country’s southern region, Dhofar as the Khareef season will begin on Wednesday on June 21.

To cater to the rush, Oman Airports announced that Salalah Airport will receive more than 2,500 flights between June 21 to September 21, 2023, this year.

As part of the preparatio­ns of Oman Airports, represente­d by Salalah Airport for Khareef Season 2023, announced that Salalah Airport will receive 2,679 scheduled flights from June 21 to September 21 of this year.

This includes 1,456 domestic flights and 1,223 internatio­nal flights. Inspired by the soul of Oman and its people, SalamAir is the first low-cost carrier based in Oman, on Sunday announced the introducti­on of new non-stop flights connecting Salalah and Bahrain during the muchantici­pated Khareef season.

SalamAir’s CEO, Captain Mohamed Ahmed, said, “We are proud to announce the launch of a new non-stop flight route between Salalah and Bahrain during the Khareef season, in response to His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik’s direction to the concerned authoritie­s to provide direct subsidies on fuel prices at Salalah Airport, equivalent to fuel prices at Muscat Internatio­nal Airport.”

Captain Mohamed Ahmed added, “The introducti­on of nonstop flights between Salalah and Bahrain supports the growing inbound tourism sector and contribute­s to the realisatio­n of Oman’s ambitious Vision 2040.”

Meanwhile Dhofar Municipali­ty organised a forum with strategic partners to discuss the activities of the “Dhofar Khareef Season 2023”, as part of ongoing partnershi­p between the municipali­ty and private sector institutio­ns, recently.

The forum was held under the auspices of HH Sayyid Marwan bin Turki Al Said, Governor of Dhofar, who felicitate­d private sector institutio­ns and strategic partners.

The forum included a visual presentati­on on Dhofar seasons, as well as discussion­s dealing with developing the season’s facilities and events.
