OCCI forum to discuss investment opportunities in tourism sector
MUSCAT: Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) will hold the Muscat Awards exhibition and forum on August 7 and 8.
The event, which will be held at Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre (OCEC), will focus on tourism investment opportunities, especially those in the fields of sport tourism and real estate in the Sultanate of Oman.
The exhibition aims to introduce investment opportunities and projects available in the Sultanate of Oman and present them to investors in the various tourism sectors, to attract more foreign investments in various tourism projects.
Sheikh Faisal bin Abdullah Al Rawas, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said during the press conference with the participation of many media outlets: “Believing in the high care and interest of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq - may God protect him - in the economy, investment and trade sector, and the trend to diversify and enhance the sources of economic diversification, and to exploit the position of the Sultanate of Oman and its natural components, the idea of announcing the Muscat Awards for investment opportunities in the tourism sector, which includes sports and real estate tourism, came up with the idea of announcing the Muscat Awards for investment opportunities in the tourism sector, which includes sports and real estate tourism.
He explained that the forum is interested in presenting investment opportunities in sports tourism in terms of establishing medical cities, international sports events and tournaments in the Sultanate of Oman, and providing the necessary facilities for investors in the sports sector as they are partners in sports development, and this forum will focus on presenting investment opportunities in this vital sector to establish international sports projects in the Sultanate of Oman, and it is expected the participation of more than 150 investors from inside and outside Oman.
He said, “The agenda of the exhibition and forum includes establishing an accompanying exhibition for companies specialised in the establishment of entertainment, sports and adventure tourism projects.
“The exhibition will include real estate and tourism development projects, in addition to the participation of international companies specialised in the management and operation of international tourist hotel facilities and resorts, and spaces will be allocated for small and medium companies specialised in the field of sports tourism and adventure tourism. The second day of the forum will be dedicated to holding bilateral meetings between investors and business owners, in addition to honouring the most prominent developers in the field of tourism and real estate projects during the forum.”
