Sayyid Badr attends meeting in Tashkent

Oman participat­ed in the second Ministeria­l Meeting for Strategic Dialogue between GCC and Central Asian Countries

The Sultanate of Oman, represente­d by the Foreign Ministry took part on Monday in the second Ministeria­l Meeting for the Strategic Dialogue between the GCC and Central Asian Countries, held in the Uzbek capital, Tashkent.

The Sultanate of Oman’s delegation was chaired by Sayyid Badr Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister.

The meeting aimed at bolstering the relations between the two sides. It served the consultati­on between both sides in various issues of common concern in a manner that serves interests of the GCC and Central Asian peoples.

On the sidelines of the meeting, Sayyid Badr held meetings of with the foreign ministers of Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan and Tajikistan.

He also held a meeting with the

Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan.

Meanwhile, the President Shavkat Mirziyanye­v of the Republic of Uzbekistan received Sayyid Badr Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister on Monday within the context of the GCCCentral Asian Countries’ second Ministeria­l Meeting, in which Sayyid Badr heads the Sultanate of Oman’s delegation.

Sayyid Badr conveyed the greetings and best wishes of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik to President Shavkat Mirziyanye­v, along with His Majesty the Sultan’s wishes of progress and prosperity for the friendly people of Uzbekistan.

President Shavkat Mirziyanye­v expressed his appreciati­on and sincere greetings to His Majesty the Sultan and Omani people, hoping that relations between the two friendly countries will grow further.

Within the framework of the visit, Sayyid Badr made a short tour of some historical Islamic monuments in the Uzbek region of Samarkand and held a meeting with the Governor of region.
