Opaz delegation explores means of boosting strategic economic partnershi­p with China

BEIJING: A delegation from the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones (Opaz) held several meetings in Beijing with a number of Chinese businesspe­ople from companies operating in the fields of green industries, iron, technology, modern informatio­n technology and chemicals.

The Opaz delegation is headed by Eng. Ahmed Hassan Al Dheeb, Deputy Chairman of Opaz.

The meetings came within the framework of attracting and localising quality investment­s in Oman.

During those meetings, investment opportunit­ies in Oman’s special economic zones, free zones and industrial cities were showcased. The country’s infrastruc­ture and the incentives offered to investors were also highlighte­d.

The meetings were attended by Nasser Mohammed Al Busaidi, Ambassador of the Sultanate

of Oman to the People’s Republic of China.

Further, the authority’s delegation also participat­ed in the Omani-Chinese Investment Forum organised by the Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in the People’s Republic of China to introduce the investment environmen­t in Oman.

The agenda included visits to a number of specialise­d Chinese companies and factories, and viewing the experience­s of Chinese

companies in targeted fields.

The visit is part of Opaz’s strategy to strengthen economic cooperatio­n, attract internatio­nal investment, create new strategic partnershi­ps, and share technology, expertise, and experience­s.

Opaz’s delegation comprises representa­tives from the Special Economic Zone at Duqm (Sezad), the Public Establishm­ent for Industrial Estates (Madayn) and “Invest Oman” lounge.
