IBA lec­ture se­ries by Dr No­man ul Haq on May 7

KARACHI: A distin­guished lec­ture se­ries by Dr Syed No­manul Haq In­sti­tute of Busi­ness Ad­min­is­tra­tion Karachi (IBA) will be held on 7th May 2018 at city cam­pus Karachi.

Dr No­manul Haq will be talk­ing about Al­lama Iqbal and the topic of the dis­cus­sion is Iqbal as His­tory Iqbal as com­mod­ity.

Eighty years af­ter the death of Al­lama Iqbal, this lec­ture by Dr. Syed No­manul Haq as­sesses the lit­er­ary, philo­soph­i­cal, and po­lit­i­cal sta­tus of this lofty na­tional fig­ure at this par­tic­u­lar his­tor­i­cal junc­ture. Dr Haq's as­sess­ment is based es­sen­tially on pri­mary sources, par­tic­u­larly Iqbal's Urdu and Per­sian po­etry as well as his pri­vate let­ters. Dr No­manul Haq has been serv­ing as a se­nior fac­ulty mem- ber of IBA in the Depart­ment of the So­cial Sciences and Lib­eral arts, func­tion­ing as its ad­vi­sor.

He con­tin­ues to be a vis­it­ing scholar at the Univer­sity of Penn­syl­va­nia (UPenn). In the past he has taught at LUMS, Brown Univer­sity, and at U.Penn. He has been pub­lished in some of the world's top jour­nals and by some lead­ing aca­demic presses.
