Pre-Ad­mis­sion Test for MS/PhD Fifth Batch held at USPCAS-W MUT

JAMSHORO: The Pread­mis­sion Test for Mas­ter of Sciences (MS) and Doc­tor of Phi­los­o­phy (PhD) fifth batch, fall ses­sion 2018 in U.S.-Pak­istan Cen­ter for Ad­vanced Stud­ies in Wa­ter (USPCAS-W) at Mehran Univer­sity of Engi­neer­ing & Tech­nol­ogy (MUET) Jamshoro was held on Sun­day; July 29, 2018 at five dif­fer­ent cities through­out Pak­istan si­mul­ta­ne­ously. To­tal 494 out of 581 ap­peared in the test to seek ad­mis­sion in four dif­fer­ent MS/PhD de­gree pro­grams which in­cludes Hy­draulics, Ir­ri­ga­tion and Drainage (HID), In­te­grated Wa­ter Re­sources Man­age­ment (IWRM), En­vi­ron­men­tal Engi­neer­ing (Env.Eng) and only MS pro­gram in­Water, San­i­ta­tion and Health (WaSH) Sciences at USPCAS-W, MUET Jamshoro. MUETVice Chan­cel­lor Dr. Mo­ham­mad As­lam Uqaili, MUET Pro-Vice Chan­cel­lor Dr. Tauha Hus­sain Ali, USPCAS-W Project Di­rec­tor Dr. Bakhshal Khan Lashari, Dean Ar­chi­tec­ture and Civil Engi­neer­ing Dr. Khan Muham­mad Brohi, Dean Fac­ulty of Engi­neer­ing Dr. Muham­mad Moazam Baloch, Deputy Di­rec­tor USPCAS-W Dr. Ra­sool Bux Ma­har, In-Charge USPCAS-W Ad­mis­sion Com­mit­tee Dr. Kam­ran An­sari and other of­fi­cials vis­ited MUET Wa­ter Cen­ter and Civil Engi­neer­ing Depart­ment to re­view the test ar­range­ments.

To fa­cil­i­tate the can­di­dates for the en­trance test, five pre-ad­mis­sion test cen­ters at dif­fer­ent parts of the coun­try have been es­tab­lished, first at Pak­istan Sci­en­tific & Tech­no­log­i­cal In­for­ma­tion Cen­ter (PASTIC), Quaide-Azam Univer­sity, Is­lam­abad, sec­ond at New Aca­demic Block, U.S.Pak­istan Cen­ter for Ad­vanced Stud­ies in En­ergy (USPCAS-E), Univer­sity of Engi­neer­ing & Tech­nol­ogy (UET), Pe­shawar, third at Depart­ment of Agri­cul­ture Engi­neer­ing, Ba­haud­din Zakariya Univer­sity, Mul­tan, fourth at Wa­ter Re­source Re­search Cen­ter (WRRC) at Balochis­tan Univer­sity of In­for­ma­tion Tech­nol­ogy, Engi­neer­ing & Man­age­ment Sciences (BUITEMS) Takatu Cam­pus, Quetta and fifth at USPCAS-W and Civil Depart­ment at MUET, Jamshoro.

The en­rolled stu­dents who meet the cri­te­ria will spend fully funded onesemester ex­change pro­gram at Amer­i­can uni­ver­si­ties pri­mar­ily at the Univer­sity of Utah and the Colorado State Univer­sity of USA. The stu­dents will be given a stipend of Rs.15,000/ per month, free trans­port, re­search grant and in ad­di­tion to these fa­cil­i­ties, fe­male stu­dents can avail fully-fur­nished hos­tel ac­com­mo­da­tion at MUET at free of cost.

The United States Gov­ern­ment and Gov­ern­ment of Pak­istan have part­nered to­gether to es­tab­lish a state of the art Cen­ters for Ad­vanced Stud­ies in En­ergy, Agri­cul­ture and Food Se­cu­rity and in Wa­ter.
